Brent McMullen

Senior Counsel

Brent McMullen serves as Senior Counsel for Varghese Summersett, where he focuses on complex family law matters, including high-conflict divorce, contentious child custody, and intricate property division.

With over a decade of experience and extensive knowledge in family law, Brent is highly regarded by his clients for his strategic thinking, compassion, and unwavering dedication to their interests.

Brent recognizes that every family law case is unique and requires a tailored approach to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients. He understands that not all family law cases necessitate an aggressive courtroom battle, and he strives to find amicable solutions for his clients whenever possible.

Brent primarily works out of the firm’s Southlake location, providing white-glove service to clients in Southlake, Westlake, Trophy Club, Colleyville, Keller, Denton, and surrounding cities, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and attention during this challenging time.

Background

Beyond the courtroom, Brent’s background reflects his hard work and dedication. After graduating from Nimitz High School in Irving, he attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, where he played college baseball while majoring in religion.

After college graduation, he worked in politics—specifically as a Congressional Liaison for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison—before attending Texas A&M University School of Law.

After obtaining his Juris Doctorate, Brent worked in several practice areas but found family law the most rewarding. He enjoys helping individuals and families through difficult times and emerging stronger and more secure on the other side.

In his free time, Brent enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and is actively involved in the Church of the Cross in Grapevine. He also likes horse racing, rucking, and trail running.

Fun Fact: Brent was a part-owner of Authentic, the horse that won the 2020 Kentucky Derby.
