Sheena Winkfield the first lawyer we added to our Dallas location on Ross Ave. She is a member of the J.L. Turner Legal Association. JLTLA is the African-American Bar Association of Dallas and focuses on providing legal services to underserved communities. She is also a member of the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association, the Fort Worth organization that has the same mission in neighboring Tarrant County. Sheena is also an active member of Dallas Black Women Lawyers Association and the Fort Worth Black Women Lawyers Association. Sheena Winkfield is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Sheena served as a felony prosecutor in Dallas before becoming a successful Dallas criminal defense attorney.
Tiffany Burks
Tiffany Burks leads the criminal division at Varghese Summersett. She has tried every level of criminal case from misdemeanor assault to capital murder – successfully. She is an active member of the L. CLifford Davis Legal Association as well as the Fort Worth Black Women Lawyers Association.
Ty Stimpson
Ty Stimpson, who manages the personal injury team of lawyers and staff at Varghese Sumersett is the Immediate Past President on the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association, formerly known as the Fort Worth Black Bar Association. Ty is also a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Honoring the Legacy of L. Clifford Davis
The firm was honored to be a sponsor of the 100th Birthday Celebration of L. Clifford Davis last year. L. Clifford Davis is known for his groundbreaking role in the fight against school segregation in Texas. Through his tireless dedication to civil rights cases, Davis challenged a school system that had long denied Black children equal access to education. His work paved the way for more diverse and inclusive classrooms, creating new pathways for future generations to learn and succeed.

Davis was one of the first Black attorneys to join the Tarrant County Bar Association, breaking down barriers for lawyers of color in the legal field. By mentoring young attorneys and standing firmly for justice, he influenced both the Black community and the broader legal community. His efforts helped shift the culture toward greater acceptance and equality, leaving a lasting mark on civil rights law in Texas and inspiring many to follow in his footsteps.
