Damian Williams

Partner

Damian N. Williams is a Partner in Varghese Summersett’s Personal Injury Division, bringing a wealth of experience to the firm’s Dallas office. A highly respected trial lawyer, Damian is known for handling complex, high-stakes cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. He represents individuals and families whose lives have been permanently altered by negligence — often in cases involving trucking and auto collisions, oilfield and industrial accidents, construction-site injuries, and dangerous products.

Damian is a trial-first attorney who prepares every case as if it will be decided by a jury. That approach has earned him a reputation among opposing counsel and insurance companies as a lawyer who cannot be pressured into undervaluing a case. He is particularly skilled at uncovering systemic failures within corporations and presenting them in a way that resonates with juries.

With a background as a former prosecutor, Damian brings a unique perspective to civil litigation. He views personal injury law as an extension of public service — one that allows him to hold wrongdoers accountable and give voice to those whose lives have been forever changed. He is especially passionate about representing families who have lost loved ones and clients living with catastrophic injuries such as amputations and traumatic brain injuries.

Damian has successfully handled some of the most challenging personal injury cases in Texas, including multiple seven-figure verdicts and settlements. His results include significant recoveries in trucking fatalities, oilfield explosions, industrial accidents, and severe brain injury cases. He is known not only for his courtroom skill but also for the compassion and patience he brings to clients navigating the most difficult moments of their lives.

Background

Damian was born in rural southern West Virginia but grew up in Long Beach, California. He was raised in a working-class family, with a mother who was a registered nurse and a father who spent decades in heavy construction management. That upbringing gave him early exposure to the realities of labor-intensive industries — experience that now informs his work in construction, industrial, and oilfield injury cases.

Damian earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, where he competed on the university’s wrestling club team and worked full-time throughout his college years. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where he also met his future wife.

After graduating from law school, Damian moved to Dallas and began his legal career at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. There, he prosecuted a wide range of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. His time as a chief prosecutor sharpened his trial skills and reinforced his belief in the justice system as a tool to protect people and communities.

Damian later transitioned to private practice, gaining experience in insurance defense and commercial litigation before dedicating his career to representing injured plaintiffs. Prior to joining Varghese Summersett, he was a partner at a prominent plaintiffs’ firm, where he managed a high-performing litigation division and led a team of trial lawyers and staff.

In his free time, Damian enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, cooking and barbecuing, playing golf, and giving back to his community. He is also the first to volunteer to hold a baby — and an unapologetic Chicago Bears fan.

For me, this work is about accountability. When someone is seriously injured, or a life is lost, it’s not just a ‘claim’— it’s a family, a future that’s forever changed. Insurance companies don’t do the right thing unless they’re forced to. My job is to make sure they are.
