Christiana Doherty is an Associate in Varghese Summersett’s Family Law Division, where she guides clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives — divorce, custody disputes, and complex family transitions.

Known for her thorough preparation, candid counsel, and genuine empathy, Christiana approaches every case with an understanding of what her clients are facing and a clear strategy for moving forward.

For Christiana, family law is more than a practice area — it’s a calling. Early in her career, she handled a wide range of legal matters, from justice of the peace proceedings to HOA litigation. But when family cases came through the door, something shifted. She realized she wasn’t simply helping clients navigate a legal process; she was guiding them through one of the most defining and difficult chapters of their lives.

Today, her practice is built on honest communication and forward momentum. She sets realistic expectations from the very first consultation, keeps clients informed every step of the way, and ensures each case continues moving toward resolution.

Christiana grew up in Mesa, Arizona, where she poured her childhood and teenage years into competitive cheerleading. She competed through high school at Desert Ridge and earned a coveted spot on the University of Arizona cheer team. It was a world built on discipline, precision, and performing under pressure — qualities that continue to serve her well in the courtroom.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Law with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 2018, Christiana attended Mississippi College School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2022. During law school, she clerked for the 15th District Chancery Court of Mississippi and worked as a law clerk at the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. She also served as a Research Representative for LexisNexis throughout her law school career.

After law school, Christiana and her husband — whom she met in law school — put down roots in the DFW Metroplex, where they both practice law. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, practicing Pilates, and escaping to the lake — especially Lake Martin in Alabama, a favorite family retreat.

Fun Fact: Christiana was a college cheerleader at the University of Arizona.
