Background
Stefan was born in Kansas but grew up in Houston, where he attended Cypress Creek High School. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in print journalism. He started working for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram before graduation – and remained at the newspaper for the next two decades.
When he is not working, Stefan enjoys live music, including traveling the country (and sometimes the world) to see his favorite bands, U2 and Pearl Jam. He has seen both bands more than 40 times.
Fun fact: Stefan has three cats named Larry, Betty, and Eddie. Larry is a long-haired orange Maine Coon who was adopted as a feral kitten. Betty is a three-legged tuxedo and was also adopted as a kitten. Eddie, a six-month-old orange tabby, is the newcomer to the house. He was adopted in July 2022.
